Ukraine's Zelensky accuses North Korea of sending troops to aid Russia

KIEV has accused North Korea of sending troops and soldiers to help Russia in its war against Ukraine.

In a video address on Sunday President Volodymyr Zelensky said: “We see an increasing alliance between Russia and regimes like North Korea.

“This is no longer just about transferring weapons. It is actually about transferring people from North Korea to the occupying military forces.”

He went on to repeat his call for increased military support in the war against the Russians.

President Zelensky said: “The front line needs more support.

“It’s about increasing the pressure on the aggressor – pressure that will be stronger than what Russia can handle.”

Mr Zelensky’s pleas to Ukraine’s allies for his country to be allowed to use longer-range missiles to attack military targets deep inside Russian territory have so far failed.

Russia has dismissed talk of North Korean troops being involved in its “special military operation” as “fake news.”
